ASSEMBLY RECERTIFICATION. When your cylinder life expires and we provide you with the new cylinder—either Puritan or Scott—we recommend you send in your regulator so that we can RECERTIFY the entire assembly with new 8130 paperwork.
While it is REQUIRED that aviation oxygen cylinders be hydrotested on a regular schedule, it is RECOMMENDED that aviation oxygen regulators be inspected every five years.

NOTE FOR COMPOSITE OR KEVLAR CYLINDERS. It is quite COMMON that the regulator valve is damaged or the seal is blown when the composite assemblies are separated for hydrotest. Rather than take a chance on this occurrance, we RECOMMEND you send the entire composite aviation oxygen assembly to us for the hydrotest and bench check of the regulator.
NOTE FOR OEM ASSEMBLIES. Aircraft manufacturers place their proprietary AIFRAME part numbers on aviation oxygen assemblies that they purchase from Scott or Puritan/BE Aerospace for installation in their factory built aircraft. By law the assembly will also have on it the Scott or Puritan assembly number. While we can cross reference from OEM airframe numbers to the correct Scott or Puritan assemblies, it is best for you to provide BOTH NUMBERS so we provide the CORRECT COMPONENTS for your assembly.
