Aerox Introduces the GlowGage

  • Increases pilot and passenger safety by allowing pilots to easily monitor the necessary oxygen flow for specific altitudes.
  • It is easy to read during day or nighttime flights.
  • A several minute light charge allows it to be readable in low-light conditions for well over four hours.

CYLINDER SPECS/IDENTIFICATION. Metal-stamped into the neck of each steel cylinder, is an ICC/DOT number (either 3HT, 3AA, or 3A) along with the month and the year of manufacture. The most commonly installed cylinders were the 3HT model in the 49, 76 and 115 cubic foot sizes.

  • The 3HT lightweight cylinder has a service pressure of 1850, a useful life of 24 years, and a required hydrostat every three years.
  • The 3AA standard weight cylinder has a service pressure of 1800 psi, an unlimited service life, and a required hydrostat every five years.
  • The composite or fibrewrapped cylinder has useful live of 15 years, a service pressure of 1850 psi, and a required hydrostatic every three years.

UPGRADE YOUR CYLINDER? NOTE: You can take the opportunity to replace your steel cylinder with a lightweight aluminum cylinder and use your existing regulator. It will require an "adapter collar" for $130. If you are replacing or upgrading the cylinder, we suggest you also upgrade the pilot and passenger delivery equipment with Aerox Retrofit Kits. This will not only increase your oxygen duration by some eight-fold, but also offers greater comfort to your passengers.

REFILLING YOUR CYLINDER. Oxygen refills. There are three types of oxygen available from an industrial gas company: aviator's breathing oxygen (ABO), welder's oxygen, and medical oxygen. All three comes from the same tanks of liquid oxygen (clean, pure, inexpensive, and dry). The FAA regulations state that only "...oxygen marked ABO (which meets Fed Spec BB0925a Grade A or equivalent) may be used in aircraft breathing oxygen systems." An ABO label on your oxygen cylinder, however, will prohibit its being filled with anything but ABO. If it is not marked with an ABO label, an industrial gas company may refill it with welder's oxygen. An FBO will generally choose to have ABO in his refill station to avoid controversy.

Interested in having your own refill station?

adapters (540, PB, and Scott) and the hookups necessary
